Sent: January 20, 2021

Here to Keep You Feeling Your Best

The University Counseling Center and Student Health Services serve the mental and physical health needs for all of Loyola's students on and off campus. It’s our mission to keep you feeling healthy, happy, and well.

As an enrolled student, all counseling and medical appointments are provided at no charge to you. Students are only responsible for fees for prescriptions, immunizations, and lab tests on a per-use basis.

University Counseling Center

The University Counseling Center (UCC) provides professional psychological counseling to help students navigate university life. Our counselors are here to assist students in times of stress, anxiety, a break-up, or any other emotionally-overwhelming or mental health-related situation. Read our University Counseling Center FAQs.

Our services include:

  • Individual, couple, and group counseling
  • Psychiatric evaluations and medication management
  • Substance abuse screenings
  • Anxiety management workshops
  • Triage and case management appointments
  • Community based referrals

Health Insurance Options

This year, there is no Loyola sponsored health insurance plan for students. Please go to your insurance website and check to see if you have coverage in New Orleans. If you have out-of-state Medicaid, are uninsured or underinsured, visit or call 504.865.3835 to schedule a case management appointment for help finding coverage in the greater New Orleans area.

At the University Counseling Center and Student Health Services, we take the charge of confidentiality very seriously. All of our counseling and medical records are kept separate from university and academic records, and our team is committed to maintaining the privacy of the students that we serve. There are limits to confidentiality such as being a danger to oneself or others, but we’ll talk with the student about what that means during their first appointment.
