Government Relations
Our office is committed to building and sustaining strong, collaborative relationships with federal, state and city governments.
Primary responsibilities of the office include support, advocacy and advancement of Loyola’s research, legislative and higher education policy agendas and campus development plans, with elected officials representing New Orleans, government agencies and the community at-large.
Federal Relations
Our office serves as a liaison between Loyola and federal government officials, including members of Congress and their staffs and executive branch departments and agencies. We monitor federal legislative and regulatory actions and advise faculty, administrators, and students on developments. The office promotes and communicates the university’s position on policy issues, including those affecting academic research, student aid, graduate and professional education, taxation, and government regulation among others. We also facilitate meetings with federal officials and respond to inquiries and requests for assistance.

State Relations
The office works to promote the university’s role as an educational, social, economic, and cultural partner in the state. The Office communicates regularly with state legislators, general officeholders, and state agency officials on behalf of Loyola. We also help to connect government officials, businesses, organizations, and individuals to the university’s wide range of programs, services, and resources. Our office monitors state and local legislation and regulations that may affect higher education generally and Loyola specifically.

Community and City Relations
As an employer and through cultural activities, athletic events, and educational opportunities, Loyola contributes to the economic health and vibrant character of the city of new orleans and its parish. Faculty, staff, and students are involved with community, business, and government organizations in a multitude of academic and public service partnerships that enhance the area’s quality of life. The office serves as the university’s liaison with its neighbors, including residents, businesses, civic and neighborhood organizations, and with the local city government. The office responds to inquiries and requests from individuals and neighborhood and community groups.
Loyola strives to be a good neighbor and to contribute to the betterment of our community at large.
