Subject line: Get Ready for Virtual Orientation 💻
Sent: November 11, 2020
Can’t wait for your first day of college? You’ll be happy to know that you can start preparing for life at Loyola long before your first day of classes!
We want to make sure you arrive ready for success. It’s very important for you to complete your mandatory online orientation modules now. You’ll watch a series of engaging videos that will prepare you for life with the Pack. Learn about the 120+ student organizations you can join. Meet the professors and peers who will make your Loyola experience so special. And find out how to access academic and career support to expand your potential. It will take just over an hour, and you’ll be introduced to a wealth of resources along the way.
All new incoming students are required to complete online orientation before January 4, 2021. Use your username and password from your Single Sign On (SSO) portal to access the online orientation website. Here’s a refresher on your login credentials in case you forgot, and if you have problems with your username or password, reach out to our Help Desk at email@example.com.
Here’s a look at the topics you’ll cover:
- Safety and security in the Big Easy
- Student living and dining services
- Student health and counseling
- Loyola technology
- Introduction to academic life
- Introduction to your College
- Student engagement and community outreach
- Student finance
Parent Access to Orientation
Your parents and caregivers can also access a shortened version of the orientation modules, so everyone in your Pack knows the basics of life at Loyola. They can visit orientation.loyno.edu and select the “For Parents and Guests” button to access the content. We recommend you share this with your caregivers so they can review this important information.
New Student Resource Guide
In addition to our online orientation, we recommend that you download our New Student Resource Guide for specifics on all things Loyno. From where to find a particular office on campus to academic support services, you’ll find it all in the guide.
Class registration will begin next week! It’s very important that you complete your Academic Advising and Involvement Interest Survey in your Admissions Status Portal so that your advisor can create your draft schedule. The last day to submit your survey is Friday, December 4. Once you complete your survey, it usually takes your advisor about two weeks to review and schedule an appointment to discuss your class schedule.
If you have any questions about the survey or advising process, please email the following according to your college:
