College of Law Professor Monica Hof Wallace Named 2025 Distinguished Professor
This award from the Louisiana Bar Foundation recognizes a law educator who has brought credit and honor to the profession.
The Louisiana Bar Foundation has named Monica Hof Wallace, Dean Marcel Garsaud, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Law, as its 2025 Distinguished Professor. This award is given to a professor in Louisiana who has distinguished themselves in their chosen career and has brought credit and honor to the profession.
Professor Wallace is a 1998 graduate of the College of Law and joined the faculty in 2002. Her areas of expertise include Louisiana civil law, family law, successions, donations, and leadership in law. She is the author of the Louisiana Civil Law Treatise on Successions and Donations and is a co-author of the first-ever Louisiana Family Law Treatise, published earlier this year.
She designed, developed, and served as the first director of the Loyola University Advocacy Center. The Advocacy Center consists of five experiential programs that prepare students for all aspects of the practice of law: Alternative Dispute Resolution, Danny and Mary Becnel Trial Advocacy, International Law, Legal Research and Writing, and Moot Court.
Professor Wallace joins a number of Loyola Law faculty who have been honored as LBF Distinguished Professors. She is an incredible example of excellence in teaching and leadership, and the College of Law celebrates her for this great recognition.
Professor Wallace will be honored during the Louisiana Bar Foundation's 40th anniversary gala in April 2026.
