College of Law Professor Davida Finger Wins Mark Moreau Award for Public Interest Law
The College of Law congratulates Davida Finger, Associate Dean of Law Clinics and Experiential Learning, for winning the Mark Moreau Award for Public Interest Law from the New Orleans Bar Association. She also directs the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center, which funds paid public interest internships and fellowships for law students and graduates and facilitates legal representation for low-income and vulnerable populations.
Professor Finger is nationally recognized for her service and expertise. In 2023, she was named a Fulbright Specialist by the US State Department. She also currently serves on the board of directors for the Clinical Legal Education Association and has previously served as co-president of the Society of American Law Teachers.
Professor Finger’s scholarship interests include poverty law, clinical education, community lawyering, access to justice, delivery of legal services, housing, and post-disaster government accountability.
