The Welcome Pack is a weekly newsletter featuring important information and resources to help you prepare for your first year at Loyola.

Now that you’re a LOYNO student, we want to know: What drives you to be your best? At Loyola, our Jesuit identity is such a gift. It helps us challenge our assumptions, reflect on our actions, and pursue something more—something greater than ourselves, or what more glorifies God in the world. The Jesuits call that magis, Latin for “more.” Get to know a few of the Jesuit values at the core of our community.

Linking Faith with Justice

Our faith connects us to our calling to make the world more just and fair for everyone. We act in service to others and take time to reflect thoughtfully on ourselves, our community, and our world. You will too, starting from day one of your Loyola journey.

• Develop skills to make decisions guided by ethical reasoning and critical analysis through the Loyola Core Badges program and First-Year Experience.

• Advocate for a cause you care about through the Loyola Community Action Program (LUCAP), or get involved in Iggy Vols, a service and social justice immersion program. Learn more about service and social justice at Loyola.

Educating the Whole Person

It’s our mission to help you find your passion and realize your full potential to make a lasting impact on our world. You will develop more than just your mind; you’ll have a space where you are encouraged to be your most authentic self. We call that cura personalis—care for the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.

• Find your spiritual home through our Catholic Student Community and Interfaith Ministries, designed to serve the needs of diverse faith traditions and backgrounds.

• Attend Mass and other special events in the Chapel of St. Ignatius and Gayle and Tom Benson Jesuit Center, a centerpiece of the Loyola community. We encourage all students of any religious affiliation to enjoy this beautiful gathering space.

• Deepen your connections to other students and reflect on your faith during ministry retreats held throughout the year or by joining a student-led Ignatian Life Community.

Learning From Experience

Through Student Life and Ministry, you’ll have many opportunities to live your faith through action. By connecting your coursework to the community around you, you’ll develop skills that will help you in all aspects of your life.

• Take a service learning course to engage with your local community and examine how your studies relate to real issues in our world.

• Choose from 100+ student organizations that align with your interests—or start your own.

Krewe Chats

Did you know: You have a Krewe Leader who is a current student dedicated to preparing you for life at Loyola! Your Krewe Leader will reach out via text and email, and they will also host virtual Krewe Chats on June 1–5 to get to know you over the summer. Krewe Chats are optional. KLs can answer questions about Wolf Pack Welcome, Welcome Week and general questions about Loyola. There will be a chat function enabled, which will allow questions to be answered by a Loyola professional staff member and/or a Krewe Leader.

Krewe GroupMes: Krewe Leaders will also create GroupMes for their Krewes. Krewe Leaders will post weekly in these groups throughout your first semester.

Join us this summer for Wolf Pack Ready, a flexible, one-day experience for you and your family to complete key next steps.

• 1:1 appointments with campus offices

• Meet with academic advisors in all of the undergraduate colleges and special programs during drop-in advising opportunities

• Student services fair

• Optional campus & residence hall tours

• Answers to your questions about academics, housing, finances, & more

Your To-Do List

✔ Follow instructions to set up your Loyola email and access the Loyola network, known as the Single Sign On (SSO) portal.

✔ Submit Your ID Photo by July 1.

Log into your Admissions Status Portal and upload your headshot in the "Upload Materials" section. Be sure to select "ID Photo" from the dropdown menu. Make sure your photo clearly shows your face and has a vertical orientation. If you plan to attend Wolf Pack Ready and would like to pick up your ID at that time, please submit your photo by June 1.
