Magis Moment: April 2026
A Message from the Vice President of University Advancement
There are often moments in this work that fill my heart with gratitude. I feel it when I watch our students cross the Commencement stage, stepping into the wider world as alumni. I feel it when a donor's generosity transforms hope into possibility. I feel it when colleagues respond to one another with compassion, lifting up those in need. This March, in a particular way, offered many such moments, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
March stood out for its spirit of shared purpose and care for our community. As we prepared for and celebrated Loyola Loyal Day, I witnessed remarkable collaboration, generosity, and Wolf Pack spirit from near and far. Colleagues across the university shared the story of Loyola with energy and heart, while alumni from around the world joined in with equal enthusiasm. To experience such unity and to know that it will meaningfully support our students, faculty, and staff was profoundly moving. It reminded me how much we can accomplish together when we are guided by generosity and trust.
Soon after Loyola Loyal Day concluded, I had the privilege of gathering with donors and the students whose lives are directly touched by their scholarship support. There is something incredibly humbling in the space where gratitude is shared so openly; where students speak of their journeys and aspirations, and donors see how their generosity has helped shape those paths. In those moments, the true purpose of philanthropy becomes clear: giving of oneself in service to others, and in doing so, helping to change lives.
This month has been a gift, one filled with joy, renewed hope, and deep gratitude. On behalf of the University Advancement team, and with sincere appreciation, thank you for walking alongside us. Thank you for helping us rise.
Sincerely,

Stephanie Hotard '04, M.B.A. '10
