Master of Science in Counseling and Master of Criminology & Justice

The Criminal Justice–Counseling dual degree expands career possibilities while delivering exceptional depth in both academic preparation and clinical training. By integrating these complementary fields, the program equips graduates with a well-rounded skill set that goes beyond what either discipline offers alone. Counseling students gain the preparation to work effectively within criminal justice settings, while criminal justice students can pursue a pathway to mental health counselor licensure.

Post-Master's Certificate in Pastoral Studies (Online)

The Post-Master’s Certificate in Pastoral Studies allows students to develop their understanding of themselves and particular areas of service as they deepen their spirituality and earn a graduate credential. Those who have already earned a 36 credit-hour master’s degree from the Institute for Ministry or a graduate-level degree in theology, pastoral studies, religious education or the like from another accredited college or university may pursue this certificate.


Master of Science in Counseling and Master of Music Therapy

The Music Therapy–Counseling dual degree prepares graduates to integrate clinical expertise with the transformative impact of music. Students gain expanded career opportunities, a broader understanding of mental health service delivery, and enriched clinical experiences that strengthen both disciplines. Music therapy students become eligible for licensure as clinical mental health counselors, while counseling students develop a versatile set of music-based interventions to enhance their practice.

Master of Religious Education (Online)

Rooted in Ignatian pedagogy, the master of religious education degree is for students eager to explore the religious, catechetical, and theological foundations of the Christian faith while learning skills in the art and practice of teaching and learning and curriculum development. This degree is ideal for theology teachers, catechists, directors of religious education, or those preparing to enter the field of faith formation.

Master of Pastoral Studies and Master of Business Administration (Online)

The online master of pastoral studies (MPS) and master of business administration (MBA) dual degree program at Loyola University New Orleans prepares graduates for rewarding, mission-driven careers.

In the MBA program, students become well-versed in business theory and learning how to add value to organizations, while pastoral studies courses teach students how to incorporate faith-based values into their work in any field and to embrace practices that support the common good.
