Popular and Commercial Music

The Beatles. Kendrick Lamar. Alicia Keys. Talking Heads. Adele. What do these performers have in common?

They’ve all made music that is creative, artful, challenging, innovative—but also wildly commercially successful. Our popular and commercial music program welcomes rock musicians, rappers, EDM artists, singer/songwriters and all other musicians who might not necessarily have a background in classical or jazz.

Music Business

Loyola's Music Business programs prepare aspiring musicians, producers, performers and executives for success in the entertainment industry. Here, you grow your skills onstage, in the classroom, in the studio and in the boardroom. We’ll teach you to share your vision with the world, protect your work and grow it into a lifelong career.

Our programs can teach you the business of music and how to properly capture and share your sound—and the sounds of others—with the world while still pushing you to sharpen your musical ability.

Jazz Studies

So you want to study jazz? We don’t think there’s anything cooler.

Jazz is America’s smoothest and most daring contribution to the world’s musical lexicon. And we have the oldest program in New Orleans dedicated to the study of its history and performance.
