Loyola Exchange programs allow students to go abroad for a semester (or year) to take regular courses at the host institution and immerse themselves in the host culture. To learn the basics about each of our programs, register here for the Zoom event on Thursday 4 February from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.

This virtual event is a general information session about all thing Study Abroad at Loyola New Orleans, presented by CIE's Study Abroad Advisor. You must register for the event via the registration link on this page.

Study Abroad 101 will cover:

  • different types and locations of Study Abroad programs
  • how to start planning for a Study Abroad experience
  • scholarship and financial aid opportunities
  • other frequently asked questions

A Q&A session will follow the presentation. All students are welcome!

Loyola Jazz Studies major Giulia Coutinho Barreto grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, and has been a successful musical performer in her home country for some time. Giulia will talk about Carnival traditions in Brazil and will perform some of its Carnival music for us in our January edition of Coffee @CIE on 1/28/21 at 12:30 pm.

International students are invited to an American Thanksgiving dinner brought to you by the International Student Association and Center for International Education. Students will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and learn about the meaning of this holiday that celebrates diversity and kindness.

Social Justice and International Education: A Call to Action

Join Dr. LaNitra M. Berger for a talk and interactive discussion about the intersections of social justice and international education and where we can take action during this pivotal cultural moment. How can we make access to and inclusion in international education equitable for all students? What are ways in which intercultural learning can happen in our own communities, especially during a pandemic which limits international mobility? The first part of the event will feature a lecture by Dr. Berger, followed by a facilitated discussion.
