Antonio J. García is Professor Emeritus and former Director of Jazz Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he directed the Jazz Orchestra I; instructed Applied Jazz Trombone, Small Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Pedagogy, Music Industry, and various jazz courses; founded a B.A. Music Business Emphasis (for which he initially served as Coordinator); and directed the Greater Richmond High School Jazz Band.

Takeshi Nagayasu is a versatile pianist who has been recognized and has won many
top prizes in competitions such as the Kosciuszko Foundation, Jacob Flier, Artist
Presentation Society, Borderland Chopin, Nashville Chopin, Rosamond Haeberle,
Texas State Piano Festival Concerto, and the International Robert Schumann
Competition in Germany. He has reached the semifinal round and received a special
prize for the best interpretation of Fauré Impromptu at the Concours International

Opera Workshop presents a piano-accompanied concert that explores both Opera and Broadway scenes which take place in summer, autumn, winter and spring. Pick your favorite season, but stay for them all!
