FreeDean Kern Maass and the College of Music and Media (CMM) are hosting a Mardi Gras Mambo reception on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 2 p.m. on the lawn in front of the CMM building. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. Enjoy live music by Brazilian band TRIO NANA, led by Jazz Studies Major Giulia Barreto. There is no cost to attend, but in lieu of a registration fee, we encourage attendees to make a gift to the College of Music and Media!

Opera Gala

FreeThe Opera Gala is an annual celebration of opera, featuring the guest clinicians from the Dramatic Voice Symposium. Two student participants of the symposium will also be selected to perform alongside the guest artists. Performers include Greer Grimsley, Amy Johnson, Clifton Forbis, and Tyler Smith.

FreeThe Loyola Dramatic Voice Symposium brings together world-renowned artists and teachers in the field of opera to present master classes and lectures for young dramatic singers and for teachers of voice. Full registration includes two days of professional development. The next day, the guest clinicians and two participants will perform on the Opera Gala (tickets available separately).

FreeOur first Jazz Underground of the 2022-23 season features Ed Wise and his Outdoor Cats. The Outdoor Cats are a jazz trio that came together to perform porch concerts with many guest artists during early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, while many jazz clubs were shuttered. The trio includes Ed Wise, Eric Merchant, and Ronan Cowan.
