SLM is excited to host a cookout for members of our greek organizations for making it through the school year. 

Each year, Dance Marathon raises funds for the New Orleans Children's Hospital. Join us on April 2nd for our 6 hour long raise-a-thon with a cookout and yard games. 

Bees were a favorite topic in Greek and Roman literature and feature prominently in similes, metaphors, and allegories across genres. However, how does a reader identify effective and innovative imagery and how does a reader know when an image is descriptive or allegorical? These questions become even more complicated when there is a several thousand year time difference. In order to decode these ancient references, one must not only have an understanding of what bees are like, but must also reconstruct what an ancient reader thought bees were like.

The International Student Association will host the March edition of Coffee@CIE! Join us and try Colombian specialties prepared by our international students from Colombia for free! The food pop-up will be in front of the Danna Center on March 31 starting at 12:15 pm.

Join us as we listen to and reflect on the powerful poetry and moving music of ten spirituals including Give Me Jesus, He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands, Were You There, and Let us Break Bread Together in musical settings by a New Orleans native and expert in American Spirituals. Walk as companions with our brothers and sisters in faith along a common spiritual journey through the crucifixion towards the promised land.

Meet our new international students who will start their studies at Loyola this week! They come from several different continents and are excited to arrive in New Orleans! Join us on Zoom for this social event on Thursday, January 20 at 12:30 pm during the lunch window. 

In commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day, there will be a virtual talk by Anne Levy. Ms. Levy is a Holocaust survivor who confronted neo-Nazi, former KKK grand wizard, and Louisiana State Representative David Duke in the State Capitol regarding Duke's denial of the Holocaust. Ms.

Dogs will be available for snuggles, kisses, belly rubs and fun!
