August marks National Civility Month, a time to celebrate and recognize the importance of civil behavior in our communities. This month emphasizes the importance of treating others with kindness, empathy, and respect. At our institution, we interact with students from all walks of life, and become more diverse. The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs invites the Loyola community to join us to support kindness and civility at Be the 'I' in Kind on Thursday, August 29, from 12 - 2 p.m. in the Danna Student Center, Multicultural Resource Center.

Alumni and friends are invited to join the Central Florida Chapter for a Thursday night football Saints watch party to cheer on the Saints as they play the Denver Broncos. Kick off is at 8:15 p.m. ET. While there is no registration fee to attend, please register so we can have an accurate headcount. Food and drink is available for purchase from the venue.

The Awakening Retreat encourages students to experience the love of God through community. It's a great way to connect with other students and explore your spirituality. This weekend-long retreat is held at the beautiful Solomon Episcopal Conference Center in Loranger, LA. Based in our Jesuit, Catholic values, the Awakening Retreat is open to students from all religious and non-religious backgrounds who are looking to explore or grow in their spirituality. Fee waivers are available.

This Wilderness Immersion is an experience that focuses on building community, having fun away from campus in nature, and engaging in eco-spirituality/environmental justice. Participants will stay in comfy cabins and participate in nature hiking, paddling canoes in the lake, eating s'mores over bonfires, and lots of fun activities in community. It takes place once each semester at Chicot State Park, LA about 3 hours from Loyola's campus - transportation and meals provided. Fee waivers are available.

The Houston Chapter of the Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association invites you to the Annual Houston Alumni Brunch. The $60 ticket price includes a three-course prix fixe brunch menu. It also includes water, iced tea, and coffee. A cash bar will be available on-site.
