From Prison Cells to Ph.D.
Loyola hosts a talk by Dr. Stanley Andrisse
(New Orleans – May 17, 2022) The Jesuit Social Research Institute at Loyola University New Orleans invites the public next month to a fascinating talk by Dr. Stanley Andrisse titled “From Prison Cells to Ph.D.”
Dr. Andrisse is a formerly incarcerated person with three felony convictions, sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was once told by a prosecuting attorney that he had no hope for change.
Andrisse is now an endocrinologist scientist, an alumni faculty of Johns Hopkins Medicine and a tenure-track assistant professor at Howard University College of Medicine. His book shares its title with the nonprofit organization he co-founded, From Prison Cells to Ph.D.
The first 50 guests to arrive will receive a free copy of his book, “From Prison Cells to Ph.D. It’s never too late to do good.”
Join us from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in the Audubon Room of the Danna Student Center on main campus at Loyola, 6363 St. Charles Ave. Free parking is available in the West Road parking garage.
