Danna Student Center to Close for Construction May 13 – August 13

Exciting changes are underway! The Danna Student Center (DSC) at Loyola University New Orleans will undergo renovations over the summer in preparation for the 2025–2026 academic year. Due to this scheduled construction, the DSC will be closed from May 13 to August 13. This closure will affect all areas within the DSC including dining services, retail, support services, offices, and meeting spaces. Building entry will not be permitted between May 13 and August 13. 

Administrative offices, retail and University support services will transition to in-person at temporary locations and remote operations during this time. Standard business hours, 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. CT, will remain in effect. Please continue to use University phone numbers and email addresses and note the following details:

  • All dining locations—Orleans Room, Starbucks, The Market, Smoothie King, Jimmy John's and Tsunami Sushi–will be closed.
  • Student Life and Ministry will operate both in-person on the Broadway campus and remotely.

    • In-person location is at the Broadway Activities Center (BAC), room 102 (next to the Amazon lockers), on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. 
    • Virtual appointments are available upon request; email the staff member directly or getinvolved@loyno.edu.
  • Iggy’s Cupboard will operate in-person on the Broadway campus at the Broadway Activities Center (BAC), room 102 (next to the Amazon lockers).

    • Non-perishable food items and toiletries available.
    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Student Health Services will be closed.
  • The University Counseling Center will operate remotely.
  • The Student Government Association/HUB Suite and the Satchmo's Commuter Lounge will be closed.
  • Amazon lockers will be closed.
  • The post office will be open to Loyola faculty, staff and students only, not the general public. It will operate out of Monroe Hall – Room 109 (Central Receiving), and business hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Postal services will continue; however, retail sales will not be available at this time.
  • The Loyola Bookstore will operate in-person.

    • In-person location is at the Monroe Library, room 147, Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Hours are subject to change.
  • The Student Affairs suite, including the departments of Student Conduct and Title IX, will operate remotely.
  • Multicultural Student Affairs will operate remotely.
  • All DSC meeting rooms, event spaces, lounge areas, etc. will be closed.
