Deadline Approaching to Apply for Young Women’s Leadership Academy
The deadline to apply for the Loyola University New Orleans and Councilmember Lesli Harris' Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) is quickly approaching.
WHAT: Designed for women ages 18-24 from all educational and professional backgrounds, this 1-day workshop aims to build community as young women engage in leadership training, peer learning, and networking. Participants will work collaboratively to understand their personalities and leadership styles, define their career goals and build their professional networks with local women leaders, including many alumnae from Loyola’s 11-month Women’s Leadership Academy.

COST: $35*
*The cost to attend the Academy has been greatly reduced thanks to a generous grant from Cox Communications and support from Councilmember Lesli Harris’ office. A small number of fee waivers may be available for those unable to pay.
This program builds on the success of the Women's Leadership Academy at Loyola. Launched in 2019, the Academy connects, educates and empowers leaders across Southeast Louisiana. Today it's New Orleans' premier women's leadership program and the only one of its kind run by a university in New Orleans. The academy has graduated more than 165 women and paired them with some of the top female leaders and executives in the area in a 1:1 mentorship program. More than 30 percent have attained new jobs and promotions.
