Loyola Week 2025!

Loyola annually honors and celebrates its Jesuit and Ignatian heritage during Loyola Week, which takes place November 16-22, 2025. We’re focusing this year on the Jesuits’ Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs).

Highlights!

Sunday November 16. UAP=Creating a Hope-Filled Future.

Monday November 17. UAP=Showing the Way to God.

Chapel of St. Ignatius:

  • 12:30: Mass, Chapel of St. Ignatius.
  • 1:00-2:00: Adoration and Confessions, Chapel of St. Ignatius.
  • 2:00-4:00: Music Performances and Reflection Opportunities, Chapel of St. Ignatius.
  • 5:00: “Migration, Displacement, and Music: Lecture and Performance” by Professors Benan Grams and Qifan Wu, Chapel of St. Ignatius.

Nunemaker Audituorium in Loyola’s Monroe Hall:

  • 7:30: Theatrical presentation of Flannery O’Connor’s “Everything That Rises Must Converge,” Nunemaker Auditorium in Loyola’s Monroe Hall.

Tuesday November 18. UAP=Journeying with Young People.

Wednesday November 19. UAP=Showing the Way to God Through the Spiritual Exercises and Discernment.

  • 12:30: Mass, Chapel of St. Ignatius
  • 12:00-3:00 p.m.: Self-Care Fair, Peace Quad.
  • 4:00: "Not a Saint but His Image Can be Discovered in Many Places in the USA --- including at Loyola:  Who is Jacques Marquette, S. J.?" Lecture by Fr. John Cunningham, S.J., Vice President for Mission and Identity. Whitney Presentation Room in Loyola’s Thomas Hall and On YouTube.

Thursday November 20. UAP=Caring for our Common Home: Collaborating to protect and renew God's Creation

Friday, November 21. UAP=Journeying with Young People.

  • 12:30: Mass, Chapel of St. Ignatius
  • 7:00 p.m.: "Christmas in November" presentation by Voices of Revival Loyola University Gospel Choir, Chapel of St. Ignatius. Free admission, canned goods accepted.

Saturday November 22. UAP=Walking with the poor, the outcasts of the world, those whose dignity has been violated, in a mission of reconciliation and justice.

Allied Event

Sunday November 15

“Harmony and Hope: The Music of Social Justice” to benefit Ignatian Volunteers Corp  (IVC). Narrated by Nick Spitzer and Mona Lisa Saloy with performers Jim McCormick, Givonna Joseph, John Boutté, Chase Kamata, John Sanchez, Don Vappie.
