Learning to Talk About Death in Healthy and Appropriate Ways
A Lecture Led by Dr. Judith Wester ’94
Thursday, September 23, 2021
6:00 pm Central time
Miller Hall Room 114 and via Zoom
Death education expert Dr. Judith Wester ’94 will speak about her work with CEDAR, Community Education in Death Awareness and Resources.
Dr. Wester has developed programs for young people, professionals, and adults on effective ways to discuss death, dying, and loss with family members, young people, and those in the community. Just as someone wants to learn French before travelling to France in order to get more out of their journey, Dr. Wester believes the words we use when talking about death can produce positive or negative effects during this difficult communication. Saying the right thing at the right time can be vital to the bereaved. There will be a Q&A afterward, to ask questions and engage with this fascinating topic.
There is no cost to attend the seminar, but registration is required.
