FreeJoin us for a special presentation from Robert Gray Freeland about six of New Orleans' famous statues to Spanish-speaking historical figures, like Benito Juárez and Simón Bolívar, and their relationship to the city, to Spain, and to Latin and South America.
Robert Gray Freeland is a board member of the Friends of the Cabildo, a volunteer organization of the Louisiana State Museum. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Louisiana AMERICA250 Commission.
The Friends of the Cabildo created their Spanish Heritage Field Trip Program in 2015, together with Loyola Spanish professor Eileen Doll, as a result of requests by Spanish teachers in local schools. The program continues today to advance learning experiences for students of all ages.
