Bio
Shawn “Pepper” Roussel is an ecoculinarean, food activist, and University of Arkansas LLM candidate in Agricultural and Food Law. Pepper is the creator of Keep It Compliant, a consultant at Green Pepper Solutions, and a co-founder of Dandelion & Moss. She is an adjunct professor of food disparity and environmental justice; Chairperson of the Board for New Orleans Food PolicyAction Council; an Advisor to Imagine WaterWorks; and Program Coordinator for OneRouge Coalition.
Pepper holds a BS in Computer Information Systems from Tulane University; an MS in Computer Information Technology with a concentration in eCommerce from Regis University; and a JD with certificates in both Environmental and International Laws from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. Her writings focus on food, health, and environmental injustice; remediation of invasive species, food systems and Black farmers, and the environmental impacts on food access, security, and sovereignty.
