Bio

Dr. Michele Ellis received her M.S.N. degree in nursing education from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004, and began teaching. She received her Ph.D. in nursing with a focus on nursing education in 2013 from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Ellis has taught across all levels of nursing education. She has been a nurse for over 30 years, with experience in telemetry, medical-surgical, psychiatric and home health nursing. She maintains membership in the American Nurses Association and the Rho Zeta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. She also serves as the co-Chair of Loyola's Institutional Review Board.

Dr. Ellis currently serves as the Accreditation Coordinator for the School of Nursing. Her position entails ensuring the school maintains full accreditation with our accrediting agencies: Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), LA State Board of Nursing (LSBN), and the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME).
