Bio
Loyola alum Michael Twillman is a talent manager, booking agent, and entrepreneur focused on the New Orleans region. In 2013, he co-founded the music venue Gasa Gasa, located on Freret Street in New Orleans’ Uptown. Conceived as a place for musicians, artists, and artisans to come together under one roof, it updates the traditional venue format to include an art gallery and vendor space with a constantly-changing personality. Gasa Gasa has quickly become a staple in the Freret Street neighborhood scene.
In conjunction with his new venue, Michael also co-founded Simple Play Management with fellow alum Reid Martin (2009), which works with a number of artists in the New Orleans area. He currently serves as CFO and Director of Festival Operations. In December 2016, Michael joined New Orleans' Civic Theater as production manager, where he oversees all aspects of concert production for the renowned 1,200-seat venue.
Michael joined Loyola University in 2014 to bring his expertise and daily experiences to music industry undergraduate students, and teaches courses in venue management and talent buying.
