Bio
Licht joins the Wolf Pack from Queens University of Charlotte, where he was the head cross country coach and an assistant coach on the men's and women's track and field teams. In only his first season as head cross country coach last fall, he captured the conference team title, while leading two student-athletes to take both the men's and women's individual crowns as well.
At regionals, the South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year guided the women to a first place finish, and the men to second, landing each squad a spot at the NCAA Division II National Championships. At Nationals, Licht's men's team earned the highest finish in program history, placing sixth and falling just 28 points shy of a spot on the podium.
This past spring, Licht earned the Southeast Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for his efforts during the 2018 outdoor season.
Responsible for the distance runners at Queens, he guided his student-athletes to seven NCAA qualifying marks, earning an All-American in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase, the men's 10000-meter, and two in the men's 1500-meter run.
Licht will join the program with eight years of previous experience as a head coach across NCAA Division II, Division III and the NAIA. He spent two years (2015-2017) at Anderson University, two at Converse College (2013-2015), and four at Roosevelt University (2009-2013).
A graduate from North Central College in Naperville, Ill., he earned a bachelor's in economics and finance.
