Bio

Kearney Gay is a multi-generation New Orleanian who joined Loyola University New Orleans as the Assistant Vice President of Development in 2026. In this role, he leads the university’s major gift strategy and development operations to enhance Loyola's future endeavors. He brings to this work a deep personal commitment to the Jesuit mission of education, service, and the common good, as well as a proven record of turning ambitious fundraising goals into transformative results.

Before joining Loyola, Kearney served as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Major Gifts at Tulane University, where he helped raise over 100 million dollars for athletic facilities. He was a key force behind the landmark Yulman Stadium project, the on-campus football stadium that returned Green Wave football to the Uptown campus after nearly 40 years. His career has also included fundraising and development leadership at other non-profits like the American Red Cross and Team Gleason Foundation, the nonprofit founded by Saints legend Steve Gleason to support those living with ALS, where he doubled revenues and built national partnerships to aid those in need.

Kearney holds a Master of Sports Administration from Belmont University and a B.A. from the University of Mississippi. A lifelong New Orleanian with roots in historic preservation and a passion for his city’s institutions, he is honored to bring his experience home to Loyola and to help build the next chapter of the university’s story.
