Bio

JP is a graduate of The University of Alabama, with a degree in Public Relations, and a two-time graduate of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity in Biblical Languages and a Ph.D. in Old Testament & Hebrew. Prior to joining the Admissions team at Loyola in the summer of 2024, JP served as Director of the Accelerated Program at NOBTS where he also taught classes in Old Testament and Biblical Hebrew. He has also taught classes as an adjunct professor at the University of Mobile, Luther Rice College, and Baptist University of Florida.

A native of Alabama, JP moved to New Orleans in 2004 to continue his education and fell in love with the city. Though his wife took a little more convincing, with four kids all born in the city, New Orleans has definitely become home.

As an (extremely amateur) archaeologist, JP has spent numerous summers participating in excavations in Israel, including the Tel Gezer Water System Excavation and, more recently, the Tel Hadid Expedition with Tel Aviv University. When he’s not digging in the dirt, JP can usually be found on the baseball diamond, the soccer pitch, or the basketball gym with at least one of his four kids. In addition to his roles as dad and coach, he also serves as a deacon and media team volunteer at his church.
