M.A.T. Social Sciences, Grambling State University

B.A. in Liberal Arts Studies, with a concentration in Sociology, Southeastern Louisiana University.

A Louisiana native, Jolanda Taylor-Magee joins the Loyola University New Orleans community as Director of Multicultural Student Affairs. Jolanda is responsible for ensuring the Loyola community is a place where all students, staff, faculty, and visitors of all identities and backgrounds feel welcomed and supported.

Before joining the Loyola community, Jolanda served as Assistant Director of Student Life at Baton Rouge Community College. She began her career in Student Affairs in 2005 at Wichita State University as a Residence Life Coordinator in the Housing and Residence Life department. She continued her career in Housing and Residence Life at her alma mater – Southeastern Louisiana University and Grambling State University, serving as Area Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Interim Director.

As a first-generation graduate, Jolanda is passionate about providing equitable access and success, creating innovative experiences that promote cultural competencies, and generating collaborative environments where teams succeed. In 2021, she became a Certified Maxwell Team Leader and completed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from The University of South Florida. Most recently, Jolanda was awarded Exemplary Leader of the Year for her outstanding and innovative leadership at Baton Rouge Community College.
