Bio
J. Miguez is a builder, investor and educator whose work focuses on a recurring question: how do we turn complex ideas, incomplete information and emerging opportunities into better decisions and useful action?
Over the course of his career, he has started companies, built and launched products, invested in private businesses, advised large organizations, and designed new ways for people to learn and work. Much of that work has taken place when the path forward was not yet obvious—when the opportunity still needed to be understood, the problem better defined, or a new approach built and tested.
At Loyola University New Orleans, Miguez brings that practitioner perspective into the classroom, teaching students to work with ambiguity, structure difficult problems, make better decisions and move deliberately from analysis to action. His approach combines a long-view, systems perspective with rapid cycles of experimentation, evidence and learning.
