Bio

E. Gross is a poet and interdisciplinary artist from New Orleans. They are the author of this body/that lightning show, selected by Jericho Brown for the Hilary Tham Capital Collection of The Word Works Press (2019) and DEAR ESCAPE ARTIST, a chapbook in collaboration with artist Sara White (Antenna 2016 and 2023). Their poem, "Ghazal at the end of the world", was selected by Beth Ann Fennelly as the Poetry Contest Winner for the Words and Music Festival in 2020 and appeared in the Peauxdunque Review. Other poems have appeared in Green Mountains Review, Painted Bride Quarterly, Fairy Tale Review, and a wide array of journals and anthologies. With collaborators Norah Lovell and Lee Deigaard, they create interdisciplinary installations as the LENs Collective. March 2025 saw the premiere of Medea as a lounge singer, their song cycle in collaboration with composer Tucker Fuller at the Toulouse Theatre, and they are currently developing a libretto about environmental activist orca whales. They also teach Creative Writing at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
