Dr. Evan Conroy is an accomplished trombonist and educator based in New Orleans. Since 2011, he has held the position of bass trombonist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, performing regularly with ensembles such as the Kansas City, Alabama, and Baton Rouge Symphonies, as well as the New Orleans Opera and the Victory Swing Orchestra.
A dedicated chamber musician and advocate for new music, he co-founded the trombone duo Make More Noise, commissioning and premiering numerous works that expand the instrument’s repertoire. He has been a featured performer at the International Trombone Festival and presented masterclasses at universities nationwide. He serves as Instructor of Low Brass at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Instructor of Trombone at Loyola University of New Orleans, and Adjunct Professor of Low Brass at Tulane University.
Dr. Conroy earned his Doctor of Music in Trombone Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. His scholarship and performance continue to highlight his commitment to innovation, excellence, and the evolving role of the modern trombone.
