Bio
Dennis Kalob comes to JSRI with over 30 years of experience as a sociologist, educator and social justice activist. He holds a B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans, an M.A. from Boston College, and a Ph.D. from the Union Institute. He has been on the faculty –and sometimes working in administrative capacities—at Loyola New Orleans, New England College and Manhattan College before returning here to Loyola and joining the JSRI staff in October of 2018.
Dennis specializes in issues pertaining to social inequality, health care, political economy, social action, and public policy. In 2011, he served as President of the Association for Humanist Sociology.He has also been the Chief Administrative Officer of the Carmelite NGO since January, 2015. The Carmelites have been particularly active on the issues of climate change, sustainable development and human trafficking, which are also issues of significant concern to Dennis.
Dennis and his wife, Cathy, have three awesome children, ages 18-24.
