Curry O'Day

Curry is originally from Atlanta, GA, and moved to New Orleans after completing his undergraduate degree in Memphis. He has over 15 years of experience providing instructional technology and end user support in higher education. After a stint in Texas for graduate school, Curry returned to New Orleans and joined the Monroe Library staff at Loyola in 2019. His favorite things about the city are its verdant flora, the river, and monsoon season. A lifelong student of philosophy, Curry's academic interests include philosophy and technology, media studies, professional and applied ethics, 17th-century philosophy, and anticolonialism.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversees audiovisual services, support, training, and the delivery of instructional and web conferencing technology to faculty, staff, and students throughout the university.
• Designs and purchases systems, and oversees media and computer equipment installations, maintenance, and repair in classrooms and meeting rooms throughout campus.
• Trains instructors, staff, and students to use audiovisual technology to teach and present in standard and hybrid modes.
• Consults with university faculty and staff about audiovisual system and equipment purchases.
• Leads the administrative team for the Zoom web conferencing platform.
• Supervises Media Services staff.
