Bio
Duke Williams is a resident of New Orleans. He was born and raised in Pompano Beach, FL and received his B.A. degree in History from Loyola in 1974. After graduating he was accepted to the United States Navy Aviation Officer Candidate School program at the Naval Aviation Schools Command, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. After completion of training, he was assigned to Patrol Squadron Four based at NAS Barbers Point, HI conducting anti-submarine warfare and maritime air patrol operations in the Pacific and Indian Oceans and the Persian Gulf. After completion of his squadron tour Williams was assigned to the office of the Chief of the Bureau of Naval Personnel in Washington, D.C. as the Manning Control Authority for all enlisted naval aviation billets worldwide. After leaving the Navy Williams returned to Loyola and received his Juris Doctor in 1984 and practiced maritime, environmental and aviation litigation until his retirement from the full-time practice of law in 2018. He currently works with his daughter in the development and management of commercial and residential real estate. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Appropriate Technology and the Committee for a Better New Orleans, a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a past board member of The Montana Wildlife Federation. Williams is an emeritus member of the Law School Visiting Committee and the Board of Visitors of The Medical University of South Carolina.
