Bio

C. Patrick Gendusa – Patrick has worked professionally as a performer, director, and instructor in New York, Texas, New Mexico, Virginia, and Louisiana. He received a BA in Theatre Arts from St. Edwards University and his MFA in Acting and Directing from Texas Tech University. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Loyola University New Orleans. Patrick was chosen as one of only fourteen theatre professionals to participate in the prestigious The Actors Center Teacher Development Program in New York City. He has taught theatre at the University of Richmond and Texas Tech University. He was head of the Department of Theatre at Holy Cross School and worked for the Jefferson Parish Gifted and Talented Theatre Program at East Jefferson High School. While in Austin, Texas he was vice-president of the Zilker Summer Musical, the only free outdoor theatre remaining in the country. He also toured with and was a founding member of the Second Youth Theatre Company and the Kinesis Dance Theatre Company. In New York he had a cabaret act called Chemistry where he taught musical theatre and acting. In 2011, he received a Big Easy Award for Best University Production for Godspell. He received Big Easy Award for Best University Production nominations for his productions of  A Girls Guide to Chaos, Almost, Maine, Blithe Spirit, Patient A, and World Goes ‘Round.

Patrick's primary responsibilities include teaching Acting I & II, Directing I, Advanced Directing, Musical Theatre I & II, Fundamentals of Speech and Senior Colloquium, as well as serving as the Publicity Coordinator for the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance. He serves as the faculty advisor to the Loyola University student groups QSA (Queer Student Alliance) and the Musical Theatre Organization. He serves on the board of directors for the French Quarter Advocates-New Orleans. Patrick is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
