Bio
Arthur A. Crais, Jr. is a native of New Orleans and attended Tulane University, the University of Hamburg and Tulane School of Law. After practicing with private law firms in New Orleans, he joined the legal department of Shell Oil Company and handled maritime litigation and related maritime matters, retiring from Shell Oil Company after 33 years. He conducts seminars in admiralty and maritime law and also serves as Chair of the Advisory Board of the Maritime Law Journal. He frequently is an arbitrator for the Attorney Fee Dispute Program of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
