Bio
Andre M. Stolier is an associate at Smith & Fawer, LLC, where he represents clients in complex litigation in state and federal courts across a wide array of practice areas, including, without limitation, appellate advocacy, commercial disputes, election challenges, divorce and community property matters, constitutional claims, intellectual property disputes, white-collar criminal defense, and administrative proceedings.
Mr. Stolier has briefed and argued cases before Louisiana appellate courts, including the Louisiana Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and has co-author briefs before the Supreme Court of the United States and other federal district and appellate courts. His federal litigation experience includes successfully defending claims under the Defend Trade Secrets Act in the Southern District of New York and the False Claims Act in the Southern District of Florida.
He began his career at Smith & Fawer as a law clerk and joined the firm as an associate upon graduating magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While in law school, he served as a Managing Editor of the Loyola Law Review, was a research assistant to Professor Nikolaos A. Davrados, and externed for the Honorable Ivan J. Lemelle of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. His Law Review Comment, “Finding the Fault Lines,” was selected as the top comment of his year and published in the Loyola Law Review.
Before practicing law, Mr. Stolier worked in government relations and political advocacy, including roles in federal and gubernatorial campaigns in Louisiana and Montana, legislative advocacy, and healthcare policy.
At Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, he has served as an adjunct professor teaching a fall semester seminar on the ethical and effective use of generative artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in litigation. He also assists Randall A. Smith in teaching a spring semester seminar on white-collar crime and business fraud.
Mr. Stolier serves on the Board of Trustees of CrescentCare, a federally qualified health center.
