Family Weekend

Welcome to the official webpage for Family Weekend at Loyola University New Orleans. 

Join us for a weekend filled with joy, connection, and the celebration of family bonds! Attending Family Weekend gives you and your family a chance to visit with your student, connect with other families, and get a glimpse into life at Loyola University New Orleans. 

Family Weekend is February 5-8, 2026
Registration is Open Now!

Family Weekend 2026 offers you the chance to reconnect with your student, experience campus life, and explore the vibrant city of New Orleans! Priority Registration closes on January 23, 2026!

Schedule Overview

  • Thursday, February 5 - Explore Campus During Homecoming: Enjoy a self-guided day of discovery at Loyola, including visiting with campus departments and offices, and making a stop at the Center for International Education's Education Abroad Fair. Then, cheer on the Wolf Pack Men's basketball for our  Homecoming Game against Abraham Baldwin at 7:30 pm in The Den  (game admission is included in your Family Weekend Registration!)
     
  • Friday, February 6 – Campus Life Connections: Celebrate what makes Loyola home! Enjoy campus tours, interactive sessions with student organizations, Residential Life, and our official  Family Weekend Kickoff Event, Havoc's Happy Hour, at 5 pm  (all ages welcome!)
     
  • Saturday, February 7 – Campus By Day, Carnival By Night: Spend the day taking in campus activities, then take the evening to visit iconic landmarks, and indulge in the city’s world-famous cuisine and culture in nearly full Mardi Gras swing!
     
  • Sunday, February 8 – A Spiritual Closing and a Super Party: Wrap up your weekend with spiritual nourishment. Attend our special Family Weekend Mass and brunch, then join our Big Game Watch Party!

 Support Iggy’s Cupboard

This year, we invite you to make a difference during Family Weekend by contributing to a non-perishable food and supply drive benefiting Loyola’s student food bank, Iggy’s Cupboard. Donations will be collected throughout the weekend at Family Weekend Check-in. Help us support students in need and ensure everyone has access to essential resources.

Registration is $35 per family member, $17 per student, and includes:

  • A Family Weekend t-shirt
  • Access to any home Loyola Athletic game during Family Weekend
  • Access to all Family Weekend events

Frequently Asked Questions

Parking for Family Weekend is hassle-free—choose any unrestricted parking spot on the main campus. For a hassle-free experience and plenty of space, we encourage you to park in either the Freret​ Street or West Road garages. Your registration fee already covers parking, so there are no extra charges during Family Weekend.

Registration for Family Weekend runs now through February 3. On-the-spot registration will be available during any Family Weekend check-in time listed above; however, we can only guarantee​ Family Weekend shirts for families who pre-register.

Your​ registration fees cover includes the following:

  • A Family Weekend t-shirt
  • Access to any home Loyola Athletic game during Family Weekend
  • Access to all Family Weekend events 

Unfortunately, we can only accept full payment for the registration fee, as it covers the comprehensive Family Weekend experience. We appreciate your understanding and hope you can join us for the entire weekend of events!

Absolutely! Family Weekend is open to friends, neighbors, and anyone interested in joining the celebration of the Loyola University New Orleans community.

Yes. Families can contact our Family Weekend helpline at 504.420.2671 or visit the Family Weekend Check-in Table (located in the One Loyola Room on the first floor of the Danna Student Center) throughout the weekend to get assistance with any Family Weekend-specific needs or concerns. 

Havoc's Helpdesk, located in the basement of the Danna Student Center, directly below the bookstore, will also be available to assist families with general needs and questions.

 

Absolutely! Visiting your student’s space is a great way to experience a bit of their everyday campus life. Families are always welcome to visit their student in their residence hall, simply have your student meet you at the front desk of their hall to check you in.

While we appreciate your furry friends, only service animals are allowed to attend Family Weekend events. This policy ensures the comfort and safety of all participants. We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this guideline.
