Bio

Dr. Janna Saslaw’s work focuses on cognitive issues throughout the history of music theory and on jazz, especially jazz theory. Her articles have appeared in The Journal of Music TheoryMusic Theory SpectrumMusica scientiaeTheory and PracticeTheoria, Current MusicologyStudies in Music from Western Ontario, The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, and in a volume of essays from Cambridge University Press, "Music Theory in the Age of Romanticism." She speaks regularly at regional and national Society for Music Theory and other conferences. She has been with the College of Music faculty since 1996.
