Students Walking to Class

Our student-focused staff works to help students and their families seek, obtain, and make the best use of all resources available to help them finance the costs of attending Loyola University New Orleans. We aim to provide efficient and effective access to programs and services through personalized attention and the use of state-of-the-art technology. Learn more about our mission.

Staff members in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid are dedicated to helping students in the pursuit of their educational goals by providing financial information and services in a professional and individualized manner. The financial aid staff exists to help students seek, obtain, and make the best use of all available financial resources. Each student is assigned to a specific financial aid counselor based on his or her last name. Staff work in partnership with their assigned families to help them gather the resources needed to finance their educational expenses.

We are working to make our website a comprehensive resource for students and parents to find all the financial aid programs available at Loyola. Students and parents can access their financial aid records online through the Loyola Online Records Access (LORA). We have recently added a page  of audio and video resources with links to supplemental information that may help families navigate the financial aid process.

Finally, we have created a series of pages with the consumer disclosures mandated by the Higher Education Opportunity Act

HR 3221- The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2009

The U.S. House of Representatives passed The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2009 ("SAFRA") on September 17, 2009. This important piece of legislation makes several significant changes to current federal financial aid programs. As this legislation now heads to the Senate, we would like to encourage the community to learn more about the issues under discussion. We will be posting information, as we receive it, at http://www.loyno.edu/financialaid/relevant-federal-legislation
