Sent: July 29

Get Ready for Wolf Pack Welcome

We are excited to welcome you to campus! Your Loyola experience starts with Wolf Pack Welcome Opening Weekend, on Friday, August 21 – Sunday, August 23, 2020. This is a mandatory program designed to kick off the fall semester for the newest members of the Pack. You’ll participate in a variety of programs and events to help you prepare for classes, meet other incoming students, take part in Loyola traditions, and more!

When and Where Do I Check-In for Wolf Pack Welcome?

All students will check-in for Wolf Pack Welcome at their first Krewe Leader meeting on August 21. We strongly encourage you to download our guide in the Guidebook app before you arrive.

Using the app, you’ll be able to:

  • View your Krewe Leader contact info
  • Find where your Krewe will meet
  • See your meal pick up location
  • View a map of campus
  • Access the New Student Resource Guide
  • Receive real-time messages and updates

📲Get instructions to download the Guidebook app on your mobile device. Once downloaded, you can search for "Wolf Pack Welcome 2020" to find our guide.

Resident Students: A printed copy of the Wolf Pack Welcome schedule will also be included in the welcome packet that you will receive once you check in to your Residence Hall during move-in.

Commuter Students: You will receive your welcome packet, including a hard copy of the schedule and a mask, at your first Krewe Leader meeting on August 21. (That’s why it’s so important to download our guide in the Guidebook app ahead of time so you’ll know where to meet!)

What Safety Measures Are In Place for Wolf Pack Welcome?

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Wolf Pack Welcome has been adjusted to foster the health and wellness of our Wolf Pack.

Masks: A Loyola branded mask will be included in your welcome packet. Loyola requires all individuals to wear a face mask covering their nose and mouth at all times except when that individual is alone (e.g., personal residence hall rooms). This includes all activities during Wolf Pack Welcome.

Social Distancing: Throughout Wolf Pack Welcome and the fall semester, we will be practicing six foot social distancing. Social distancing markers must be followed (e.g., six-foot markers for food lines, capacity limits for elevators, signs requiring use of certain stairwells in a particular direction, etc.). All daytime programming will be conducted according to Krewe groups to allow for social distancing.

Learn more information about Loyola’s health and safety guidelines for the fall semester. Don’t forget to complete the required COVID-19 and Emergency Preparedness course in Canvas before you arrive for more resources and best practices.

Where Can I Park?

If you will be driving to campus, please visit the Maps & Directions site for detailed information on how to access campus. Parking is available free of charge during Wolf Pack Welcome in both the West Road and Freret Street Garages. Both garages will also have an unloading zone available on the first floor for you to move your items.

What Is the Parent Schedule?

Parents and family members can assist students in moving into their residence hall during the week of August 17. All family members will leave campus once the welcome event begins. Wolf Pack Welcome is for incoming students only.
