Meet Your Student Government Association
Ranked #20 in the country by The Princeton Review, Loyola’s Student Government Association (SGA) is deeply involved in matters affecting our campus community. From racial equity issues to sustainability measures to community service, your SGA is here for you on the topics that matter. The SGA also plays a big role in campus fun, hosting signature events through the University Programming Board like Wolf Pack Wednesday, which gives students the chance to show their Loyola pride. Weekly giveaways are offered on the front porch of the Danna Student Center to those wearing maroon, gold, or Loyola gear! Get to know the student leaders that represent this year’s SGA.
Applications are now open for First Year Council! First Year Council (FYC) is a program developed by the Student Government Association to help first year members of our community engage their leadership potential on campus. Through learning the ins and outs of our Student Government Association, attending mentoring opportunities, planning a campus wide event, and assisting in campus-wide initiatives, FYC is a great first step into the leadership opportunities that Loyola has to offer. First Year Council occurs in the fall semester, and at the end of the program, council members will rank their top SGA committees and will be placed in one for the following spring semester.
Upcoming FYC Information Sessions:
- September 2, 6:30 p.m.
- September 3, 12:30 p.m.
First Year Council will meet in the SGA Hub every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with our first meeting on September 8. There will be a Zoom option available for students who cannot meet in person. Contact Chief of Staff Olivia Dadoun at osdadoun@my.loyno.edu with any questions!
