Subject line: Plan for Your Arrival: Parking and Books

Send date: January 11, 2023

Parking Services

Loyola Parking Services is looking forward to a new semester with you in it! All students who are enrolled in on-campus classes for the upcoming academic year and who wish to park on campus must purchase a virtual parking permit. Once completed, your license plate will be used as your permit to park on campus, so you won’t need to pick up a physical permit for your vehicle to gain authorized parking access.

You can order your permit online in just a few easy steps!

  • Log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) portal
  • Click on the “Parking Services” option in your SSO Apps
  • Select the “Permit” button in the top left hand corner of the page
  • Follow the steps on the screen to add the permit to your cart and checkout
  • Once you complete the application, you will receive an automated email which lists the information you provided
  • The application requires 3-5 business days for processing
  • Once your application is processed, you will receive a second email informing you that your permit is active, listing the location and hours valid, if applicable

In order to have a virtual permit, you must be enrolled in classes for the semester and show current vehicle registration, no exceptions. Contact our department if you have any questions or concerns.

Keep Your Bicycle Safe

If you will be using a bicycle on campus, it must be registered with the Loyola University Police

Department. Register your bike for free by going to the police department entrance at Biever Hall and scanning the bicycle registration QR code posted on the front door. You will need to provide the serial number of the bicycle, which is stamped into the frame. You can also add a photo, which we strongly recommend so that we can identify your bicycle if it is lost or stolen.

Once your bicycle is registered, you will be able to return to the police department at Biever Hall to collect a registration sticker for your bicycle. Finally, update your bicycle’s online profile with the registration number of the sticker that you just applied to the bicycle.

We ask that you use a hardened bicycle lock, such as a u-lock, and secure it to a bicycle rack on campus. Bicycles should not be secured to railings, fences, or other stationary objects. Any bicycle found in violation may be impounded. If you have any questions, or need assistance with the bicycle registration process, you can contact Sergeant Patrick Martin at pjmartin@loyno.edu or ask for assistance at the police department.

Planning for Your Arrival

In addition to finishing your online orientation modules before the start of classes, check out these other important resources before you arrive on campus to make sure you are prepared for life at Loyola!

  • Check out the Academic Calendar to plan for important dates, like the last day to drop/add classes for your spring schedule.
  • If you’re having trouble accessing or setting up any of your Loyola accounts (like your Loyola email or the SSO portal), check out our step-by-step guide or contact the IT Help Desk by emailing support@loyno.edu from your LOYNO email.
  • Mark your calendar to join the Spring Admit Social on Thursday, January 19 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in Satchmo's Lounge in the lower level of the Danna Student Center. It will be a great time to meet other new students!
