Mandatory Student Health Insurance

All full-time graduate students are required to enroll in Loyola’s Student Health Insurance Plan. You must provide proof of comparable, existing insurance coverage for the 2022 – 2023 academic year in order to waive coverage through Loyola. Please visit our Student Health Insurance website page to view plan details and specific requirements for waiving coverage.

Office visits and all on-site labs and services at Student Health Services and the University Counseling Center are available at no costs to students enrolled in Loyola’s health insurance plan. If you have other health insurance, please check with your plan provider regarding coverage and fees.

Please note: There is no Loyola sponsored health insurance plan for part-time graduate students at this time. Students can scroll to the bottom of the Student Health Insurance page to get help applying for health insurance through the marketplace or Medicaid in Louisiana.

Submit Your Immunizations

Don’t forget! You are required to submit immunization documentation no later than January 15. Print the Proof of Immunization Compliance Form, have it completed and signed by your physician or treatment provider, and follow the instructions on the form to submit your documentation on the Public Health Portal. Loyola requires COVID-19 vaccination documentation, including a booster shot, as part of the immunization documentation requirements.

Students who submit vaccination exemption may be required to take additional safety precautions in keeping with public health recommendations, such as masking, social distancing, and completing mandatory quarantine if exposed to the virus. An exempted student may also be excluded from campus and from classes in the event of an outbreak of COVID-19 on campus until the outbreak is over or until the student submits proof of immunization. ADA accommodations will be provided for students meeting that criteria in classrooms and at activities on campus.

For questions about your immunization requirements, please email immunization@loyno.edu
