John Levendis is a professor of Business Analytics and Economics and holds the William Barnett Professorship in Free Enterprise Studies.

He received his undergraduate degree in economics from Loyola University New Orleans in 1997, where he was recognized as the outstanding graduating business student, and outstanding economics graduate. He went to the University of Iowa where he received Masters degrees in Economics and Mathematics in 2000 and 2003, and a Ph.D. in Economics in 2004. Dr. Levendis has taught at the University of Iowa, Cornell College, Southeastern Louisiana University, and is now back home at Loyola.

Dr. Levendis’ current research applies time-series econometrics to problems on financial economics and economic development. He is the author of the book, Time Series Econometrics: Learning Through Replication, which is published by Springer Nature.

John Levendis was voted Loyola's Outstanding Faculty Member by the Student Government Association in 2017 and 2019.
