Bio

Since Dr. Cathy Rogers joined the Loyola faculty in 1990, her work with students in a prestigious national public relations competition has placed the School of Mass Communication in the national spotlight. Of Loyola's 22-year participation in the Bateman Case Study Competition sponsored by the Public Relations Student Society of America, Rogers' students have earned national recognition every year.  Eight of those years, her teams placed first in the competition.

Rogers is the 2018 Educator Honoree at the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations. This award “recognizes individuals who are, or have been, full-time educators who through mentoring have touched the lives and careers of countless students, whether in the classroom, in student-run firms and pre-professional societies and/or in scholarly endeavors.”

Rogers earned her Ph.D. in journalism and mass communication from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, where she also earned a certificate from the Contemporary History Institute. Rogers spent part of summer 2007 as a visiting professor at the Advertising Council, sponsored by the Advertising Education Foundation.

Rogers teaches Public Relations, Strategic Content Creation and Advanced Public Relations Campaigns.
