Bio
Michael Barber, S.J., entered the Society of Jesus in 1966 and was ordained a Catholic priest in 1979. He holds a BA from Saint Louis University (1971), an MA from Saint Louis University (1972), Master of Divinity from Loyola University of Chicago (1979) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Yale University (1985). In 1985, he began teaching at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, where he has worked for 35 years. While at Saint Louis University, he served as the Dean of the School of Philosophy and Letters (2009-2012) and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (2010-2015). He has published 7 solo-authored books, edited 17 other volumes, and published over 100 articles in the area of ethics and the phenomenology of the social world. He is active in several professional, philosophy societies, and he celebrates the Eucharist regularly for the Hispanic Community of Holy Rosary Church in Fairmont City, Illinois.
