Econ 200
Electronic Communication: LISTSERV
Each of my classes has been set up on a LISTSERV, which is an email communications mechanism that allows us to contact one another. You must get into the habit of checking your email regularly and often.
You must subscribe to the class LISTSERV. To subscribe you simply send an email message to Loyola’s mailing list management system, Majordomo. The LISTSERV names for my section of Principles of Microeconomics is:
Econb200001
To subscribe, send an email message to majordomo@loyno.edu . In the body of the message type the words:
subscribe econb200001
You will get two messages back from majordomo, confirming that you are on the econb200 mailing list. YOU ARE NOW SUBSCRIBED TO THE CLASS LISTSERV.
If you receive email at home or elsewhere through a non-University provider such as AOL, Excite, or Yahoo, repeat the previous procedure from that account, so that all your addresses will be on the LISTSERV.
To send messages to your LISTSERV (and everyone on it – that is, everyone in the class), use the address for your section:
Econb200001@loyno.edu
Everyone subscribing to that mailing list will get the message. To get a list of majordomo commands for HELP, send a message to majordomo@loyno.edu
In the body of the message, type the word "help" (no quotation marks), and send the email.
NOTE:
If you want to send a private message to me, DO NOT use
the LISTSERV. Instead use my email address: walker@loyno.edu
