December 10, 2006

To take a break from studying for finals, Theta Psi held a White Christmas Social. We had hot chocolate and s'mores and watched the classic Christmas movie, A White Christmas. We also invited ladies who might be interested in joining SAI in the Spring.

December 3, 2006

Theta Psi chapter had a special visit from our province officer, Christina Mendoza. We are very thankful for all the advice she gave us and the wonderful time we had!

November 28, 2006

Our Fall Musicale was held at 8:00 p.m. in Nunemaker Auditorium. Performances included:

  • Meredith Arnold, Marley Dzis, and Carolyn Sierichs performing "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell
  • Sara Litchfield in a great rendition of "Leap of Faith" from RENT
  • Lauren Berman singing "I Can Hear the Bells" from HAIRSPRAY
  • Julia Howell on viola performing Suite for Cello No. 2 in D Minor by J.S. Bach
  • Jennifer Davis with Meg Stewart on piano playing the Hindemith Sonata for Clarinet
  • Sara Melton singing "Steal Away"
  • Andrea Savickis singing Lydia by Gabriel Faure
  • and Patrick Connor, Marley Dzis, and Connor Forsyth closing the program with "Do Nothin' 'til You Hear From Me" by Duke Ellington and Bob Russell

November 15, 2006

Our chapter has received the SAI National Music Education Award for 2005-2006 in recognition of our Spring 2006 Benefit Concert. The concert raised over money to help New Orleans parish school music programs after Hurricane Katrina. We thank everyone who made the concert possible. We also received the Omega C Province Collegiate Chapter Achievement Award for 2006. 

November 5, 2006

For our November social, the ladies of Theta Psi took a trip to Oak Alley in Vacherie, LA. We enjoyed a great picnic under the oaks and even got to try some mint juleps!

November 8, 2006 & October 25, 2006

For our October and November service projects, we partnered with MENC to host an Instrument Petting Zoo for local school children. The events were a success with over 300 hundred total in attendance.

 

October 6, 2006

In October, the ladies made a trip to Serrano's for a yummie dinner followed by an old tradition of pin box painting at Katie's apartment. We never knew so many of our girls were so creative!!!
