Organic Integrated Pest Management Course

In this 5-day course the farmers learn to identify pests as well as beneficial organisms and the many different types of organic pest and disease control, with the main focus being on biological pest management.  The course covers making traps to collect and monitor insects, the use of interplants in attracting beneficial insects and acting as trap crops for pests, cultural practices for managing pests, and the use of natural pesticides (though these are to be used as a last resort or as spot treatment).  At the end of the course the farmers design their own pest management program for particular crops.
