Internal Control System (ICS)

This 3-day course explains the documented quality assurance system that allows external organic certification bodies to delegate periodical inspection of farms to an identified body with certified inspectors.  ICS helps farmers to achieve traceability of each crop harvested from the field to storage through sales. The application of soil improvement measures and disease and pest management control measures will also be documented by each farmer.  The course topics include farm and field maps, field history sheets, seed purchase records, input records, field activity log, harvest and storage and sales records, buyers list, and the ICS inspector’s reports.
